五羊石像矗立于广州越秀公园的五羊石像是广州城市形象的代表。整个石像连基座高11米，居首公羊的雄姿勃发，口含饱满稻穗，喻示羊城人们丰衣足食。其余四羊环绕于主羊周围，或戏耍，或吃草。五羊大小不一，姿态各异，造型优美，已经成为广州城市的标志。

五羊石像与一个传说有关。传说在二千多年前，广州海天茫茫、遍地荒芜，人们辛劳终日难得温饱。一天，有五位仙人身穿五彩衣，骑着口含六束谷穗的五只羊飞临广州。他们把谷穗留给广州人，并祝愿这里年年五谷丰登永无饥荒，然后驾云腾空而去，羊化为石。从此，广州成了富饶的地方。
Wuyang Stone Statue is related to a legend. Legend has it that more than 2,000 years ago, Guangzhou was vast and deserted, and people hardly had enough food and clothing all day long. One day, five immortals, wearing colorful clothes, flew to Guangzhou on five sheep with six bunches of grain ears in their mouths. They left the grain ears to Guangzhou people and wished that there would be no famine every year. Then they drove away in the clouds and turned the sheep into stone. Since then, Guangzhou has become a rich place.
